New:

Internal transport planning

To accommodate client requests Floorganise develops the internal transport planning module. This is an add-on similar to Floorspace planning. In essence it functions like this.

Explanation of the proposed solution

The new transport system is divided into two parts; a ticket page and an operator page. Figure 1 shows the ticket page; it will look similar to the Planboard but will have a completely different purpose and functionality.

The ticket page
The ticket page

To explain better the functionality behind what you see in figure 1:

  1. The filter panel allows users to filter the page to view issues or transport requests.
  2. The transportation module is an extension of the issue manager.
  3. The create ticket button will open a window allowing users to create new transport requests.
  4. This part of the page shows all open transport requests.
  5. This part of the page shows all closed transport requests.
  6. With this button requests can be deleted.

Figure 2 shows the ticket details; users can access this page by double-clicking on a ticket.

  1. This part of the page shows the details of the transport request.
  2. The remarks window allows users to add to the ticket information that will then be accessible to the operators that are responsible for the transport.
  3. The save button saves the remark.
  4. Remak history gives users a history of all the communication related to the transport.
  5. Close ticket will change the status of the ticket to closed. By doing this, the ticket will not be accessible to the operators anymore. The ticket will move to the closed section of the ticket page.

Figure 3 shows the create ticket window where new transportation requests can be made.

  1. The equipment that will be needed to make the transport.
  2. The location of the item to be transported.
  3. The destination of where the item needs to be transported to.
  4. The date of when the transport is to be scheduled.
  5. Users will select a timeslot representing a time window allowing the operators to do their own planning still.
  6. Check the box that indicates to the operators that the transport is either blocking work if it's not picked at the desired time window or is currently blocking work.
  7. The remarks window allows users to give the operators relevant information they might need to complete the transport.

Figure 4 shows the operators page where the crane operators can view all the open requests and schedule transports by accepting or rejecting them.

  1. The daily tasks window shows the operator's schedule based on how they plan their day.
  2. The request shows all the open requests for this department.
  3. Operators can update the date on the request to fit their schedule.
  4. Operators can schedule the transport to a specific timeslot, for example, 08:00 am - 09:00 am.
  5. Operators can reject the request, and the ticket gets updated with that information.
  6. When operators have selected a date and timeslot, they can accept the transport request, and the transport request ticket gets updated.

Figure 5, shows how the ticket gets updated once it has been approved.

The same will happen if the ticket gets rejected; rejection details will be added to the ticket containing the information about when the ticket was rejected and by whom.
